Description
DAY 1: Arrival in Cairo
Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be greeted and assisted by a Blue Rays Tours representative. You will be helped through passport control and the luggage area, then transferred to your hotel in Cairo by a private air-conditioned vehicle for check-in and an overnight stay.
DAY 2: Cairo Sightseeing – Train to Aswan
At 8:00 am, start your day with a visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Great Sphinx, the world’s oldest monumental sculpture. Explore the Egyptian Museum to see the priceless treasures of Tutankhamen, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. Stroll through “Islamic Cairo” and enjoy a walking tour of the 1,000-year-old El Moez Street, ending your day at the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar. In the evening, you’ll be transferred to Giza railway station to board the Sleeper Train to Aswan, spending the night on the train.
DAY 3: Aswan Sightseeing – Nile Cruise
Upon your morning arrival in Aswan, a Blue Rays Tours guide will meet you at the railway station. Begin your exploration of Aswan with visits to the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the unfinished Obelisk. Afterward, embark on your Nile Cruise, enjoy lunch, and freshen up. Later, sail in a traditional Felucca across the Nile to see the botanical gardens on Kitchener’s Island. Spend the night aboard the Nile Cruise.
DAY 4: Abu Simbel – Sail to Kom Ombo Temple
Early morning, take a boxed breakfast from the cruise before starting your trip to Abu Simbel. The drive takes about 3.5 hours each way. Discover the impressive Abu Simbel Temples, known for their grandeur and unique rock-cut architecture. In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo and visit the temple dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god. Enjoy a festive Egyptian dinner and Galabeya party on board. Spend the night on the Nile Cruise.
DAY 5: Edfu – Luxor East Bank
After breakfast, visit the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Sail to Luxor and in the afternoon, explore the vast Karnak Temple complex, featuring the Temple of Amun and the Avenue of Sphinxes. Continue to the grand Luxor Temple. Overnight stay on the Nile Cruise.
DAY 6: Disembark – West Bank – Train to Cairo
Disembark after breakfast and discover the Valley of the Kings, where tombs were built for the powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Admire Queen Hatshepsut’s impressive temple at Deir el-Bahri and view the Colossi of Memnon. In the evening, transfer to Luxor railway station to board the Sleeper Train to Cairo, spending the night on the train.
DAY 7: Final Departure
Upon your arrival at Giza Station, you will be met and assisted by a Blue Rays Tours representative, who will transfer you to Cairo Airport for your departure flight. Safe travels back home!
